Sh..sh..shark!

Sh..sh..shark!

Danny and Gerardo were getting their fishing rods ready. Matthew and Chol put their swimsuits on. They jumped in the water. SPLASH!
“Brrr. It’s cold.” Matthew shivered.
“Stop monkeying around! It’s not that cold!” scolded Chol.
Their heads disappeared under the water. They were looking for the extremely rare rainbow fish.

In the boat, Gerardo yawned and laid back on his chair while Danny drank a whole bottle of Coke in one go. Buuuurp! Danny was afraid of waking Gerardo up but Gerardo was snoring like a pig. In the distance Danny could see a dark shape in the water moving towards him. Suddenly, he saw the fin on the surface of the water.

“Sh..sh..shark!” Danny screamed like a little girl.
Gerardo fell out of his chair. “What happened?” Gerardo asking in confusion.
Danny pointed and stammered, “Sh-sh-shark!”
Gerardo peered in the distance. “What are you talking about?”
Danny didn’t bother explaining and he looked for a way to alert Matthew and Chol. Danny grabbed his fishing rod and waved it in the water.

Down below the surface of the water, Chol was taking pictures of fish among the coral. Matthew was exploring a shipwreck. Matthew had discovered skeletal remains of pirates and treasure inside the wreck.

On the black screen of Chol’s digital camera, he could see a movement above his head. He looked up at the boat and noticed a huge dark shape speeding in his direction. Realising what it was, Chol looked behind him and discovered that Matthew had disappeared. Chol freaked out. He had a choice to swim back to the boat or look for Matthew. Chol realised that the shark was too close to the boat, so he looked for a place to hide. Chol could see a shipwreck not far away. He swam quietly and as fast as he could towards the safety of the wreck.

Chol reached the wreck just as Matthew emerged and they collided. Chol pushed Matthew into the wreck, slammed the door and blocked it with a piece of wood. Chol dragged Matthew to a porthole and pointed to the shark. The shark was circling the boat.

“Mayday! Mayday! There’s a shark swimming around the boat and my friends are in the water. I’m going to send a flare up!” Danny shouted into the radio.
“Copy that.” replied the lifeguard. Danny retrieved a flare gun from the emergency kit and gave it to Gerardo. Gerardo was so tired, he dropped the flare gun and Danny said, “Give me that!” Danny shot the flare gun in the air to attract the attention of the coastguards.

The coastguards started the engine on their speedboat and within minutes came to Danny and Gerardo’s rescue. Danny and Gerardo told the coastguards that Matthew and Chol were in the water and that a shark was in the water. The coastguards said, “Don’t worry. We’ll save your friends.” They put on their diving gear and jumped into the water.

The coastguards saw the shark approaching them and they shot at it with a speargun. The shark turned and swam away. They then went in search for Matthew and Chol. The coastguards found Matthew and Chol in a shipwreck and pulled them out to safety. Gerardo was relieved to see Matthew and Chol safe and sound. Matthew and Chol felt lucky to be alive and vowed to go to a safer place when they wanted to go swimming again.
